Coming right after the holidays, the preparations for the Down Syndrome Consciousness Month in Feb 2009 seem to be very hectic.  With so much to get done in barely a month, we are happy to be holding two major events this year:

Feb 6, 2009: 6th Tee-up for Down's Golf Tournament at Valley Golf South Course.

Feb 22, 2009: "Stand-up for Down's" is this year's theme for the Happy Walk that shall be held at the SM Megamall in Metro Manila.

Feb 6, 2009: 6th Tee-up for Down's Golf Tournament at Valley Golf South Course.  Tee-off time is at 7:30am and we are expecting between 100 to 140 golfers to grace this event.  As our major fund raising event each year, we are thankful to all of our generous sponsors who have decided to support us during these challenging economic times.  This event promises to be another well-organized and successful golf tournament at the recently talked-about golf course.  We also expect lots of giveaways and raffle prizes for the participants to add more fun!  Tickets are at P2000 - green fee, lunch, and raffle.  So, to all golfers out there, we look forward to seeing you there!  Please contact Adette at 895 3606 / 895 9642 for reservations.

Feb 22, 2009: "Stand-up for Down's" is this year's theme for the Happy Walk that shall be held at the SM Megamall in Metro Manila.  In the past years, we have had anywhere from 1000 to 2000 participants with around 200 persons with Down Syndrome participating in the walk together with many supporters, families, and friends. This is such a nice treat for the persons with DS as they get to ride motorcycles, carts, bicycles, or just walk in this parade that is about 5kms long and takes over an hour to finish.  As usual, we expect lots of media coverage - both TV and print - that help promote the awareness of the Down Syndrome. Simultaneous events shall also take place in Cebu and Davao - details to be announced.

Yet to be announced: Photo exhibit as well as other events including TV appearances, Radio Interviews, and features in newspapers.

All of these activities are organized mostly by volunteer parents, members, and officers of the association.  it is only through their dedication and hard work that these activities come into fruition so we would like to thank each and everyone for their contributions.  We are also thankful to all of the participants for their presence at these events.  Lastly, we are forever grateful to all of our sponsors and donors and friends who never tire of supporting our association.  Through them, the association is enabled to carry out its mission of promoting awareness and educating new parents as well as the general public on Down Syndrome so that persons with DS can live better lives.

Our warmest wishes to all!  Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat!
